Students urged to prepare for national examinations
Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has urged candidates preparing for this year’s Form Two and Form Four national examinations to intensify their studies, remain disciplined and maintain a positive mindset to boost their chances of success.
Lilongwe Rural East District Education Management Information Systems officer Snowden Banda made the call on Saturday during a send-off ceremony for examination candidates at Maya Private School.
He said government is investing significantly in expanding access to education and urged learners to reciprocate that commitment through hard work and focus.
“Government is investing heavily to ensure students access education. Learners must, therefore, remain focused, disciplined and committed to their studies to achieve good results,” said Banda.
He further cautioned students against misconduct and negative peer influence during the examination period, stressing that discipline plays a critical role in academic achievement.

“Use the remaining time wisely by revising your work, consulting teachers where necessary and believing in your abilities. Success comes through hard work and determination,” said Banda.
He also commended private schools such as Maya Private School for complementing government’s efforts by providing learning opportunities for students not selected to public secondary schools.
Maya Secondary School director Joseph Wowa encouraged the candidates to maintain their work ethic, expressing confidence that the school will sustain the strong academic performance it has been recording since 2018.
“We are proud of the academic standards the school has maintained over the years and believe this year’s candidates will uphold that legacy through excellent results,” he said.
Wowa also called on parents and guardians to continue supporting learners during the examination period by offering encouragement and creating a conducive environment for studying at home.
“Success in education requires cooperation among teachers, parents and students and we appreciate the continued support from parents,” he said.
